Tonight a friend and I were checking everything to see why my 4wd isn't working. All the vaccum lines are fine and worked and so we decided to take off the shift cover to the CAD and make sure everything was engaging. When we did this all the forks slid back and forth (pads on the ends of the forks looked good) and my 4wd light would come on (which it wasn't coming on before). As soon as we put the shift cover back on and tried it again, nothing worked. We even took it out on a test drive and nothing worked. I am going to start by buying a new vaccum switch on the T-case and then a CAD if needed. Does anyone know if O'Reilly's or NAPA will carry both of these items? Or is this a dealer part only?

Have you checked for actual vacuum at the axle cad? The lines can get brittle at the vacuum switch located on the transfer case. I spliced in extensions at the transfer case while cutting out the brittle/cracked lines. I used about four inches of vacuum line per existing line and one vacuum extension found in the parts store in the "Help" section.

Yes we looked at the lines by the T case senor and they are all fine, and yes there is vacuum at the axle cad but not sure how much. I'm gonna start by getting a new vacuum switch and buy a vacuum guage to see exactly how much vacuum I'm getting to the cad.

All fixed, I replaced the Vacuum sensor on top of the trasfer case and installed a new actuator. Just in time for a big snow storm tomorrow, lots of snow to be cleared!
