No A/C....Need Help

Now that summer has finally arrived, my air conditioner has decided to stop working properly. It will still blow cold air, but only on low... . medium and high will not work. Has anyone had this problem and know how to fix it? Any information would be appreciated as it is getting hot down here in Texas.

So the fan only works on low you have no medium and high? It has to be the switch in that case. Or are you saying that it only blows cold on low? Be sure to run the A/C on MAX, becuase that recirculates air from inside rather than from outside. Give us more grusome details. Dan

Sorry I wasnt more clear on my first post. The A/C blows cold air at all times, but it only works on low. Medium and High speed dont work anymore at all... . The A/C only blows at 1 constant speed now instead of three. I had a feeling that the switch might be bad, but didnt know the symptoms.

Can you pick a switch up at a wrecking yard and how run do they usually cost?? I am clueless when it comes to this particular topic.

Cody: It might be the resister pack that controls the blower motor speed. Mine is located on the inside firewall behind the glove compartment. Bob

I would bet he's right I did not know whether our first gen's used the switch as a resistor for the motor or a separate controller. Thanx for the info. Dan
