Thanks, TDR Staff

New clutch suggestions.

Shouldn't disconnecting batteries clear the P Codes?

I noticed last night I had no backup lights while in reverse, I moved the stick around and it flickered a little and then did not come back on. Can anyone help??? Please.

If memory serves me correctly it is on the right side of the transmission. Not hard to find as it screws into the case and has a harness to it.

I just replaced mine. I bought it O-Riley's because they're foolish enough to offer a life time warranty on one of the brands they sell. :-laf

I replaced one on my NV5600 ($65. 00). I then squirted contact cleaner into the old one and then rotated the head of the switch around a few revolutions. I then tried the old switch again and it works. Try that, may save you some $$$.

Thanks guys, I can always count on TDR members to help out. I will try to clean it first and see if that works, like GReed said save some $$$, for fuel.

Try this..

I know this is an older post, but I just read it in the newest TDR magazine.

Had this problem, and the solution for me was new tail light socket boards (both sides). Very easy to replace, and quite inexpensive if you shop around.

I paid under $30 for both including shipping to Alaska at amazon.

I tend to get lots of condensation in my tail light assemblies due to the environment here, and suspect they became corroded inside the boards. The connectors were also very corroded, but even after a thorough cleaning, the reverse lights still would not light.

Replaced with new boards, and presto. All is well.

Welcome to the forum. What year is your truck? I know burnt light socket boards were a common problem in the beginning of the third gens and then it was mostly with the automatics tail lights since they have to sit at a stop with their foot on the brake.
