2001 2500 4x4 auto, if I leave key on and don't start motor I get message No_Bus_Sig on odometer reading and no error code at all, it won't even show no code, it stays with miles numbers.

It is a nightmare that I'd like to solve.

Truck has been reflashed 3 times, replaced all speed sensors, oil sending units, checked by dealer and other shops.

Speedometer works sometimes, once in a while motor cuts out (very short surge), twice went into limp mode, shifting is ok but seems sluggish sometimes.

OTC scanner cannot find any code on ECM but Check Engine light is on, it finds only ABS codes (wheel sensors, ECM failure, etc. ) but cannot clear them.

I was thinking to replace PCM (not ECM) and see if it can solve something, but I hate to spend $ 400 for a replacement if not needed.

All the grounds and connectors have been cleaned and inspected plenty of times.

Any hints ?

AC thank you for your reply, but the truck is a 2001 (actually made 02-00) model, not a 1999, does it apply to it too ?

Valv, had a similar problem after washing the bottom of my truck, there is a large connector behind the left front wheel well. It is kinda hidden you might follow the wiring harness down to the junction behind the plastic wheel well and it is all the way at the bottom. Take the connector apart with the batteries disconnected and wash it out with WD40 or something simillar, dry it out check for corosion, and pack it with dielectric silicione. shoud be good to go.

hope this helps

I think he did it already, since it happened... . the same way, he entered a carwash with underwash, and everything went downhill from there.

Truck is not mine, it's my "gonna be" son in law, we are very attached to him.

Found the problem !!!! After 6 hours at ******* (ooouuucchhhh!!!) which cost him approx $ 600. 00 they found 2 wires rubbed, one from a harness near ecm and one near alternator.

Truck is back to normal right now.

Just wanted to post it, in case somebody will have same problem.
