:{ Chryslers trying to steer you toward a dually with its superior stability. Emergency handling with a high center of gravity load is not a fun event. I've got a popup and I can feel it also. Chrysler's also trying to absolve themselves from lawsuits from some young kid right out of law school. I considered ordering an '06 until talking to the fleet manager at Dishman Dodge who confirmed the insert in the glove box and the fact that I'd probably be on my own in the event of a warranty claim i. e. frame problems, handling etc. Mucho thanks to Richard Bowman though @Dishman Dodge in Spokane. TDR price=$1000. 00 under invoice-incentives. Good honest guy.
I believe it says "Not recommended". Not the same as not approved. I understand it says the same on many dual wheel trucks, Dodge is not trying to "Steer" you into a dually. I think it's a 4x4 thing. I talked to "Ask Dodge" and they told me it's OK as long as you are not exceeding the load rating of the truck. Do a search, this was discussed in great length last year. You can ask 10 different people at DC and get 10 different answers. My dealer said I can be assured a camper won't affect my warranty.
I looked at an 06 3500 SRW 8' bed 2wd and it had the paper that says its ok to carry upto 1985 lb camper. I expect to find the same paper inside my glovebox when it gets here.
2wd is definately an advantage when hauling a camper. Ride height of vehicle(lower the better) is a plus. Upon installation of my KORE Chase I could feel the shift in weight toward the rear due to front ride height. Dually's are the ultimate though for slide ins. Parking them though is another matter.
