Well yesterday i set the timing to 15. 5 and changed the stock housing to a 16cm non-wastegated housing. After driving ~40 miles, including my normal drive to work up a 3/4 mile steep hill, i can't see any differance

EGT's are the same, didn't notice any additional turbo lag and overall power is the same. I don't think the smoke changed either. Perhaps a tiny drop in egt's on a hard accleration from a stop but nothing to get excited about.

Should i have seen something more?

BTW, my engine plate say the stock timing should be 14deg (cpl 2174) but we measured 14. 5 deg (4. 537 mm of lift) before the change. We went to 4. 7 mm of lift.

Brian :)

I might get the 370's in today!!!! Oo. Oo.

try sliding your plate . 030 back (rear) at a time. you should find a spot where egt drops but power stays the same. it will be hard to control egt with plate all the way forward. each truck is a little different but, if you play with the plate adjustment you can find the "sweet spot", hope this helps. if you don't like that 16 housing you could twist my arm and i would take it off your hands ;)
