Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) no chargeing

was wondering if anyone know if you can get an ecm fixed for the voltage regulator,my truck quit charging and i replace the brushes and bearings in the alt,found out the voltage regulator is in the ecm,can you test this or do you just by a new ecm or can you get them fixed,thanks

On the 12 valves the EVR is in the PCM. I thought all 2nd gens had the

EVR in the PCM ( which is on the fire wall behind the passenger side wheel well).

Are you sure you didn't pop the fuse in the PDC ( black box behind battery).



You can put a external regulator on to check to see if it will charge. If it does you can leave it on get new PCM/ECM which ever one the EVR is in.

The the alternator fuse in the PDC good? Blow that, and it won't charge much at all. Held in place with 2 small screws.
