no cold ac on passenger side

Anybody have any suggestions on what the problem is with my passenger side ac. I have the dual climate control and when I get in after the truck has been sitting and turn the ac up to full blast the passenger side will blow humid hot air for about 1 minute. Sometimes it gets a quick shot of cold air while blowing hot then goes back to hot. After driving a few miles it corrects its self and is fine. Any suggestions?

Have them check your freon level. Mine was doing something very similar, and it was a pound low and my truck is about 18 months old now.

Works fine now.

Just fixing to post same question. Just noticed today that ALL pass. side vents blow warm air and drivers side blow COLD. Seems like a blend door problem???Wife said this is NOT cold air. I said its throwing ice cubes. Well ONE side does!

Mine just started doing the same thing 3 weeks ago. Dealer said they tried another one and it was the same so it is normal!Guess if it's not theirs it don't matter. By the way mine does not have pass side air controls. After vacation it go's to another dealer to have a few problems fixed that the incompetent dealer cannot fix.

Well it can't be normal. Its a LARGE differance. Two vents on left ice cold ac. Three?vents on right is just a bit more then outside air cool.

After the second try, my dealer said it was out of balance. They plugged a putter in and fixed it, so they said.



After 12 months of trying the dealer has fixed our A/C as far as I can tell after 400 miles, its been working good. They say the factory charge is too low also, they added three pounds and it is cooling much better. Its been in the 90's here and the A/C is actually working well. It hit 95 degrees while I pulled around a heavy load today.

Mine does the same thing. . I found that if you turn to the window defroster for a couple of seconds then switch it back it will be cold on the passenger side.

I made a appointment for Wednesday morninh. Service advisor said just a slightly low charge will do this. Well see!

Well took mine in this A. M. Tech FIRST called STAR who had a recording on that if it was differant from left to right that up to 12 DEGREES differance was normal! Seems like a LOT of differance to me. They recharged mine and said it was ok. On way home it felt better but still off from left to right. I stopped and bought TWO ac thermometers at a parts store and theres NOT 3 degrees differance from left to right! I never had a NEW one that was low on freon in the FIRST 12 months before.

Location in Heater-A/C Housing. Mechanic had to take the hole dash apart to get to it. It takes about three hours to take dash apart. And three hours to put it back together. Now it works good. Get like icebox now. I hope this information helps for the members that are having problems with their A/C.

Mine was replaced also, but I think the dealer was throwing parts at it in my case. Glad to here they fixed yours.

I've only put about 400 miles on since the fix, but its been all towing miles. Its working great, I pulled 12K last week in 90 degree weather in the hills with only cold air blowing. So, its past the hot and humid test, I'm hoping its leek free, only time will tell.

6 month old 04. Problem showed up in hot Texas summer... ... ... ... cold driver hot passenger... ... ..... OK for me???????? Common problem..... new systems are very very sensetive to charge level. 1/2 lb makes a big difference. Still don't understand the left right issue but dealer says that he has seen many with low gas from the factory. Only shows in real hot weather. Toped it off two months ago and we hang meat in there now!
