06 Cummins 6 speed, 14k miles ,had it in for the rollover hose and long crank time last Wed. Left trip out of town w/ 29' fifth wheel , First stop , shut engine down and came back about 20 minutes later, turned key Relay under fuse box clicked. We (myself and brother in law 25 years with chrysler) checked everything and could not find any bad fuses ect. Next time , Suddenly truck started. Had about 9 days of time on the road out of town in the middle of no place. Returned home drove about 190 miles last day and parked on the pad and shut off and would not crank. I checked everything again and it would not crank. The relay is clicking and the truck will start if you roll it and jump it in high gear. Just like the old days. Any Ideas what else to check this truck has to be used until monday, when we can get it back to the dealer.

Sounds like a ground issue to me. Check both batteries (as they should have been disconnected when the dealer performed your warranty service) sometimes there will be a less-experienced tech assisting with "prep" work such as get the truck on the lift, remove wheels, disconnect battery, write down radio presets, pull codes, etc. As they are not as experienced, they may be more prone to forget things, get interrupted more, etc. The experienced tech is supposed to be watching, but if they are also interrupted... . you get the idea. No excuse for not doing the job right the first time, but it does happen.

Clutch Switch Is good , With the pedal out no clicking of the relay. I started with the ground wire bundles, rh side loosen retighten , no change ,lh side rear bundle same no change, lh side bundle behind battery on fender . I loosen this one and retightened . I am back in service for now and will keep you posted. ( Thought ! on the way in and out of our place rural roads west of KC It is very washboarded this might be causing this issue, I am going to check all the grounds that they might have loosened, they also replaced the anti lock module. )

Thanks for the Idea's

Butch

You know, its odd that I see this thread just as it happened to me. My truck would not turn over last tuesday and had it towed to the nearest Dodge dealer, which was more than helpful for those who bash D/C, anyway I made sure the vehicle was towed proper as the driver stated I did not need to worry if standard trans was in neutral, so I asked him to dolly the front end with the rear lifted anyway due to owners manuel 4X4 instruction (preventing transfercase damage). It cost me $80. 00 for the repair due to the alarm Co. fault, not covered under warranty by D/C. The ignition lockout wire under the dash loosened and was my problem, I don't think this is your problem but you might bypass it anyway and see if it will start

A few people have had the same/similar thing happen because of the key. The computer forgets which keys are allowed to start the vehicle.
