I recently had a couple of recalls corrected at my local Dodge dealership (what a joke). I went in w/a frayed throttle cable and had to return 2 days later with the same cable in the same place and still frayed. They finally did the job right. Well I said all that(and could say much more) to tell you all, that now I have no Cruise Control (it worked before I went in), but I wouldn't even entertain the thought of going back there and suggesting they may have done something to my cruise. So I now ask the most knowledgable people I know, where do I start to look and what can I do to fix my cruise control? I did check the fuse and its ok. I appreciate all that reply and look forward to having a solution given to me. Thanks to you all and may everyone continue to Rattle On.

Hello,

I recently had the same thing happen. I lost cruise control after replacing my throttle cable. After doing some searching, I determined that I had knocked the vacuum tubing loose where it connects to the vacuum pump. I reconnected the vacuum tube to the pump and the cruise worked once again.

There are a couple of things to check. The most obvious is the cable from the cruise control to the throttle linkage. It connects to the throttle linkage right beside the throttle cable that they replaced. Make sure it is connected properly to the linkage mess.

If that is ok, then check to see if any vacuum lines have been disconnected by their crashing around. Follow the cable from the throttle linkage. Just before it goes into a woven cover you will find a small diameter vacuum tube also going into the woven cover. Check to see if the tube is connected at the end near the brake booster.

If that is ok, then they may have broken the vacuum tube at the vacuum servo under the battery box. If the tube has been weakened by battery acid then they may have managed to finish breaking it.

pull up on the brake pedle and try to set it, then if it kicks in just atjust the switch bracket on the brake pedle so that it is fully compressed when the bake is depressed
