My dash lights quit the other day. It was about time for the headlight switch to go out on me, so I got another one. Just got it in and still no dash lights. All others are fine. All wires are in correct spots on switch. Am I missing something??
Have you checked your fuses? #14 fuse (3 amp) feeds the dash lights as well as the ashtray, radio light, tach light, O/D switch light, A/C & heater control panel light. Do any of these other lights work? or are they dead too?
I just got back from pulling and replugging all the fuses. Apparently I must have loosened one. I didn't see which one was for the dash. They are working now. And after getting the upgrade kit, I forgot to plug the relay into the new switch. After I inserted the wire extensions into the plug, I couldn't get them out. I will try again in daylight.
That relay had the red & pink, and the black & yellow wires. On the switch end of it was a black wire. Any idea where it goes?
While I'm on this, there are 3 male fittings on the case of the switch. I could find no wires that appeared to be hooked to them when I took the old one off. Is there something that is supposed to be there? Can these be used for powering accessories that have lights?
It's my believe that is a ground connection if it's a steel bracket that holds the switch/part of the switch.
You didn't call the "Smokehouse" did you? They have a wire diagram for a relay. Call and ask for Scott. Tell him Greenleaf sent yah. I sometimes talk to him when I'm beside myself.
I pulled the #14 fuse (which was unreadable on my fuse block) and checked it closely. One of the connectors had broken free from the other side. Looking at it, I couldn't see the filament burned, so I had thought it was ok.
