Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) No engine power abs/airbag light on and odometer blinks

I did the converter clutch repair because my was cycling at 40-50mph. I did the repair which is to separate the ground wire from the alternator wire bundle, and run it in parallel with the positive wire. I did the fix and had no problem. Except when I went to turn the truck on and test drive it, I noticed that the truck had no forward drive power, and the dashboard gauges were not working except the ABS and airbag light are on and the odometer blinks. I connected a code reader and the code reader says it can't connect to the truck. Does anybody know what could be the problem? I am at my wits end, I don't know what else to try without taking it to a mechanic

It's too bad that with all the people on this forum, no one seems to know about or have had similar experiences with their trucks. I posted a similar problem in that it was electrical but the responses were very generic. Thanks to those who did. Check your grounds!! I can not stress that enough!! Perhaps you inadvertently disconnected something during your repair. Electrical problems are a nightmare. I was fortunate to have a friend who is knowledgeable in that field and was willing to help me.
