no first gear in A518

I lost first gear in my 92 about 20000 miles after a rebuild. I checked the linkage and that seems to be ok. Little sloppy but it is engaging all the way. Haven't had the pan off yet.

Lost it both in automatic and manual mode? Does reverse work?

Yes lost it in both auto and manual, yes reverse works

Valve body issues, stuck shift vlaves, worn governor bore plugs.



Front servo, either cocked in bore which is a failure point or possibly front band linkage damage.





Thats a couple things it could be, are probably more that could contribute.

Where is the governor pressure solenoid located or is there one on a 92?

governor pressure solenoid is only on the 47RE and up. Your trans other than the OD is full hydro controll.
