No Full Throttle

My truck's throttle will not go to the wide open position. It stops about a 1/4 inch from the stop. This is by stepping on the accelerator and by moving the throttle on the injection pump. What is wrong? It will only go 120-125 km/h or 70mph. Just got a tune-up so it runs better and have bigger injectors. It sucks not being able to floor it and test it out the trucks feels just slightly better than stock. I hope there is nothing wrong with the pump.

This may not help but when I had my truck tuned up at Wentland Diesel, the first thing the technician did was reach down and bend the pedal arm up slightly to make sure the throttle was opening fully. He said that sometimes the pedal will hit the floor before fully opening the pump linkage.

I went out and compared it to my old truck this morning. It wasn't the pedal but the throttle linkage on top of the pump hitting the fuel supply line. On my old truck it was bent way out of the way. So I took a screw driver and bent the fuel just so I have full throttle. I can't wait to hook her up to our trailer and test her out. If anybody else has this problem I'd check that out. I was real glad there wasn't something wrong with the pump.



Still looking for a tach. Also what do you guys know about American Eagle wheel corp. I was thinking about getting some Series 058 16x7 wheels. Is the offset ok for our trucks. As well as who else makes good wheels?

Funny, Last weekend I had to do the same "adjustment" to the throttle pedal as it would not pull the pump wide open. Just slipped out the pedal and put it in a vice to get the right amount of bend. Carefull not to bend it too far or you will have high idle permanently!!!.
