Headlights will not come on. Pull the light switch and park lights and dash lights work, but no headlights. I can pull back on the dimmer switch and they will come on at this point, but let go off it and they are off again. .

Help! got to drive this thing home in the dark. .

Did you try turning on your brights then turn em off . Then try your your headlights . Both my 96, & 01 trucks had intermittent problems with the lights not coming on. Flicking the brights on & off always got me going.

I had a similar problem with my switch. The knob would not pull out much beyond the parking light posiition. Left me stranded overnight. The switch had failed mechanically with no warning. Had the 5*** dealer replace the switch under my extended warranty. I later found that my dome light would not turn on when the knob was rotated. Turned out the 5*** mechanic bent a terminal on the swtch when installing it.

GO TO NAPA

Just replaced my headlamp switch. $19. 00 at Napa, they wanted $92. 00 at Dodge, did not have in stock, Napa had it in stock. Probably a better switch than Dodge too, of course it is probably made by the same company!!!

Similar problem

I'm having a similar problem. Go from lows to highs and it gets GD DARK out there :--) . Pull back until the detent and "LET THERE BE LIGHT", same thing happens when going from high to low.

I've learned to be "QUICK ON THE STICK", if YKWIM. :D

The real witch about it is that it doesn't do it every time, only when she wants to.

I had the same problem when I went to go home Super Bowl Sunday. Solved it by putting on the high beams. Had the fuel pump go at 1450 miles. I love my QC 2500, but I hope it doesn't have gremlins... ... ... ... ... ... .

It's dark out there

After noon Dieseldual. I had a similar experience as you and your headlights. The difference is it was my dash lights. I figured it was the headlight switch so I got a new one and remove the dash ring. It wasn't my switch but the plastic terminal block that connects to my switch. The one for the dash lights had been hot and melted and made a poor connection. I went ahead and replaced the switch and I added some paste we high voltage electricans use to aid in electrical connections. It's called Nolox

(No Locks) or Penitrox (two different brands doing the same thing). It is a paste that is blackish and has conductive properties. Shake, or stir it up real good and put a little on the male prong and reassemble. I saw a note in another post about a hole being drilled inside the socket the switch is in (for ventilation). Don't use the heater through the dash vents if you choose this idea. One last thought, is that in removing the dash trim ring there is a screw behind the accessory port (second cigarette lighter) cover. The rest is simply pull the ring off and the clips will come with it. There are felt pieces of cloth behind each clips to quill any squeekes. Hope this helps.
