The other day I started having problems with what I thought was the transmission wanting to jolt in 5th gear. It all developed after about two hundred miles into not having any gears in 4hi and 2hi but everything in 4low works fine. The transfer case fluid is burnt and has metal shavings in it. It was good on fluid level too. I have it off now and the only thing I can see that looks wrong is that the case is getting chewed at down where the input carrier sits. I had this thing apart before, about 5000 miles ago so I could have put something in wrong the last time. Any ideas on what part of the t-case would be going out to make me loose hi gears or maybe anything I should look for. Thanks
