Going to tear my old one open this summer when time permits. Doubt I will fix it when a junk yard spare is 50 bucks.

.....
Nice! That was a good score! If you get a spare it would be a good idea to crack it open and inspect it for corrosion or other damage. While its apart look for any spots on the circuit board that do not have the protective coating and cover them with one of the readily available coatings for circuit boards used in harsh environments. That is how my blinkers failed, corrosion at an uncoated spot on the board.

I was able to procure relays on line but have not had the time to work my PDC and replace the relays. My problem was right trailer turn signals did not work. There is a coating on my circuit card that feels rubbery. Has anyone who repaired their PDC removed the coating? What did you use to safely remove the coating? This would give me two good PDC's.

I am just going to look and see of I can see a failure. My local junk yard knows if another 03 comes in that I want the fuse block. I will throw it on the shelf for next time. For 50 bucks it is worth it.

There are two coatings. One is the gummy "conformal coating" http://www.humiseal.com/conformal-coating/ which is over top of an epoxy coating. I used a Dremmel to clean down to a trace, but I would not recommend it since it is too imprecise. I watched some videos and visited some board repair websites before doing my repair. You may find them helpful too. IIRC they scraped the coatings off with an exacto knife or similar type tool.

My 04 had the same issue and cost me $600 through the dealer. After watching that video I'm happy to have taken it in. There's no way I'd have the patience for that

Well, at 5AM tomorrow I am headed out. Hitting DC on the way to take a peek at some of the monuments that have been closed when I was there last and buddy who is traveling with me has never seen them.

I hope I have all bases covered, full compliment of tools with me. Good mojo for a 245K mile truck going on a 3K mile trip with limited time!!!!!
