well im still scratching my head.....

Whenever I make a left turn, the engine misses. Just for a second, as I round the corner. So far this has only happend when making left turns at intersections, from a stop or close to it.

With my open exhaust, it sounds like the jake brake briefly comes on, although that is obviously not the case but only wishfull thinking:D

I do know that the dipstick is the wrong one (engine is one quart over full when at full mark), and that i accidentaly overfilled at least a quart beyond that. Could the oil be sloshing onto the crankshaft tone ring and interupting the crank signal?

One of my manifold heater wires burnt up on the end recently, too. Perhaps on a hard left the ECM thinks its -20 outside and goes to 3-cyl run even though my foot's on the throttle... .

I have no MIL on but dont know if any codes are present.

Has anyone ever heard of this one before??

Just a guess but it sounds like an electrical problem that pops up when you turn left. I would try wiggling the ignition keys when you are stopped and at idle. Then open the hood and try wiggling some of the wires on the driver’s side of the engine. If either of these causes the engine to miss, you are on your own in finding the problem.

Good luck. :)

This wont answer your question but we used to have a 91 jeep wagoneer ltd and it started dying every time you made a right turn. Only on right turns and it would start right up. Kind of scary sometimes getting onto the freeway with a sharp cloverleaf turn. Anyway turned out to be a rub in a wire that when making a right turn it would short out against the fuel rail. It wasn't much bigger than a pin hole but thats all it took. Took me forever to find it.
