Got pulled over this morning for no lic plate light. Does anybody know what the bulb number is and is there a fuse for this light.

Best bet is pul the lamp and go to a parts place for replacement. If you're as "lucky" as I've been (not) you may find the sockets are melted to the point of requiring replacement. Presently I'm on a set of sockets purchased about 6 mos ago and one is totally melted. I'm trying to locate a replacement socket that isn't a POS - wish me luck.

I put in 1998 for your truck... great web site!

One of my lic. plate light assembly fell out of the bumber and was hanging loose behind bumber light still on. I did a little afro-engineering and got put back where it belonged. (The heat from the light melted something ,don't remember what it was)

Thanks for the search i got the bulbs out and they are 168 I'm going to the parts store now and see I can find the long life bulbs.

You will find the 161 bulb has the same base configuration and has a total current draw of only 180 mills. This will keep you out of johnny-laws eyes and allow your socket to last longer. The original bulb draws 330 mills and will cook-out the socket. A lower current draw will naturally last much longer. (It's the ashtray bulb)

Good luck

William
