On the way to work a few days ago the fuel press. dropped to 0 and the truck shut down for lack of fuel. I know that the VP-44 will pull fuel from the tank but it will kill itself doing so in time. My pusher pump is powered from the same wire that feeds the lift pump and it too had quit and would not pump even after only bumping the starter. It was 5:30 in the morning, I was halfway to work and had an idea. I cut the wire that feeds my back-up lights and pulled it over to the pusher and am now using it instead to feed the pusher pump ONLY. I now am driving with only the pusher working and am turning it on and off with a toggle switch on the dash.

What has happened to the power wire in the harness? I have swithed the relay in the distribution box under the hood already.

The power for the lift pump is transfered through the ECM. I assume that your pusher pump is running off a relay? You could have roasted the circuit logic through the ECM, you will have to wire the LP and relay to some electrical outlet that only works when the engine is running.
