Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) no lift pump Pressure during ignition bump

i am getting ready to change out and relocate my old LP in a few weeks. the pump is running ok for now (low psi <9 idle and <6 WOT). i noticed today that when i bump the ignition the pump does not run and i get no FP. I remember it running before for about 10-20 seconds but nothing now. can this be the solenoid? i cleaned all the connections but still no pump on BUMP. is the LP on its last leg? the only reason i am asking about this is because i want to change my FF tomorrow and i don't want to take it all apart if the pump wont even prime the system when i am done. any ideas? i will check the solenoid tomorrow.

Sounds like a dead LP... or almost dead... I don't think I would change the filter until I had the pump fixed... will it turn on when you bump the starter???
