Another gauge mount question.

Gauge wiring help

I just got my order in for a Westach combo gauge and SRT pillar mount. What chapped my butt is that the gauge was $200 and doesn't come with the light insert for the back lighting on the gauge as it is suppose to be ordered seperately. What the heck is that about? Can I get the bulb insert at NAPA or do I have to order it from Westach?

Thanks,

Pat

You're kidding... mine is suppossed to be at my doorstep this morning. I'm going to be really hacked off if I have to wait another 2 or 3 weeks to get the friggin light.

This is a bad joke, isn't it?

I hope its not the case. I too will be receiving mine shortly amd will be really hacked off if there is no light with it.

You've got me really whipped into a frenzy about this and I had to take an adventure into the bathroom to pull out the Geno's catalog and have a looksee.

"The white markings and clear light (with green or red boot) match your Dodge dash. " That's what the brochure and ad for the Westach dual gauge says, so I'm hoping I get a light with mine.

As soon as the package arrives, I'm going to tear into it and search for this light. I will post my results later today.

We all must have been on the same waiting list. I wouldn't make this stuff up. It even says in the directions "If you would like backlighting, order kit number whatever". What the hell did they think I was gonna do with this thing. I'm gonna call Westach I guess. I just don't want to have to pull everything apart to install a light...

My stuff arrived and I tore into it like a starved gorilla. In there, in a neat little brown teensy weensy envelope was a light, along with the appropriate green and red condoms for the lighting.

All is well with my stuff. Although, on the directions to install the gauge (which are full of gibberish) it does say that you have to order the optional light kit if you want to.

Maybe Geno's includes them in there with the price?

My envelope which included the light/condoms was in the box with the gauge and wires (2 2-terminal electrical and 1 boost tubing).

Where did you buy your gauge from?

1/4 or 1/8 NPT

Which is the best to use ? Why?

Where is the best place to take EGT pre or port turbo. Anybody is San Diego able to assist a rookie with this operation?

I went with 1/8, that way if I screw it up, I can try again with the 1/4.

I'm going preturbo, but that's a can of worms and there are several opinions on both sides.

Whew!!! Saved me from my 2nd stroke of the day!!:D

For the Westach dual gauge, the light gizmo is about an inch long, black in color with a light bulb on the very end. It looks like a fat match stick with a light bulb on the end. It came in a 1 inch by 3 inch little manilla envelope that was folded 3 times and had a silver sticker that held it closed. I still have mine (with the red light condom still in it) if you want, I could take a picture, you could print it out and show it to your daughter and see what reaction you get. Make sure to put her under the hot lamps and take away her favorite toy before you do this though!

Good luck.
