New Tremec 4050 5 speed manual transmission replacement for NV 4500

98.5 24V, Turbo, injector and maybe a manifold suggestions.

I do not get the wait to start on the dash, I do not hear the buss associated with it. Starts and runs fine. I did just remove and replace both batteries, this seemed to occur after that. Any thoughts?

Thanks for your reply? Well above 54 degrees. The reason I asked is that it has always in the past came on at any temperature outside. Maybe for some reason it now working properly.

Mine comes on every time, 1 second, when it's warm out and longer as temps. drop. Should I be looking for a problem somewhere??.

Press to start comes up every time... wait to start comes up after you "press to start" while the grids are heating

EDIT [... Oops.. did not read the OP sig.. not applicable to gen 2.]

Not absolutely sure, but I believe the "Wait to Start" light always comes on regardless of outside temperature. Like @RBeard mentions, just stays on longer when ambient temperature is colder.

I am referring to the VP44 trucks only.

ON my 1999 2500-,, if the ambient temp is 50F or so the wait to start never comes on. But, If the temp is 20 F but it is a;so tiec somehow to the engine temperature because If the block heater is plugged in and ambient temp is 20 F, the wait to start light never comes on but of course it starts very easily. I do also see that the grid heater comes on looking at the volt meter until I get to the 18 MPH point and then the grid heater turns off.

It should come on when you turn the key with all the other lights then if it’s below 60 it will stay on. Around here mine comes on almost all year long

Mine quit working and then started working again after i had genos full wiring replacement installed. Must have rotted off. Look for rotten wires around the fuse box.

You sure you reconnected all the wires and cables?

Just had the same problem on my 99. The dealer wanted to install a new ECM. I went home and started cleaning all cables and connections. I found that the two ground cables that connected to the engine block from the batteries were in need of cleaning.
Solved the problem. Wait to start light comes on as it should and the truck starts up every time.

I will load test the terminals on the battery because this started after changing the batteries
