Went to NAPA today to get shocks for my truck. No luck. The ones listed in the book don't fit my truck. What gives? Anyone have problems like this before? 2001 4x4 with plow package. All shocks that were listed to fit were all too short. Thanks

I have a 2002 and put Bilsteins on, guaranteed for life. Bought them online, fit with no problem. Been on for 20,000. Work great.

Make sure you save your metal sleeves on the bottom of the shock where they bolt thru because sometimes the new shocks sleeve are not the correct size and can cause a loose fit and clunking. Just from what I've read on here. Just hang on to your old shocks and hardware till you're satisfied with the new ones.

I used OEM bilsteins (2549, 2550) last year and had no problem on my 97 dually 4x4. Bilsteins makes a 5100 series that is more expensive but have earned a lot of respect here.

Got mine from www.summitracing.com for about $60 apiece. Did all 4.

I'm very happy with my Bilstein 5100's.

part #'s front - BE5-2549, rear - BE5-2550

Bought 'em at Off Road Warehouse (w/TDR discount)

I'm sure someone will report how great their Ranchos are. That's fine. I can't be bothered with adjustables.

I assume you have a 2nd Gen truck because you posted here? Fill in your signature ;)

Are the Bilstein yellow/blue (2549 and 2550) the only shocks which will fit a 1995 NON-lifted truck? When I do a search for my 1995 truck on Bilstein's website it shows a couple of optons... the yellow/blue shocks and also the silver/black shocks. The silver/black shocks have the same part numbers as listed in Geno's catalog, but Geno's lists these shocks only for 2003-2006 trucks. I have been holding off on purchasing some Bilstein shocks because I'm not sure I will like the appearance of yellow/blue shocks under my truck.
