Since buying by 07. 5 6-speed in april I had the emmissions light come on twice and had the recall done. I run my exhaust brake all the most of the time. My biggest thing is everyone talks about the exhaust regen and having messages i assume on the overhead, I have only ever seen the message system ok. I assume that that is normal or is something not working right

2008 auto

check engine light started goin off at 13,000 miles all started goin bad all at once , turbo cleaned , ecm flashes incomplete, needed 5 to bring it up to date, nov 07 build date, sooted up , egr cleaning,

all tsb's now completed, went through all tsbs, watchen oil levels climb on dip stick fuel dilution, wrapped exhaust pipe and fixed o2 sensors, new turbo this week,

Also told service manager i have never seen regen light or dpf full warning on overhead console

made him write up the oil fueling issue in the log book

At 20,000 got the P 2262 and the P2000 code at once getting the the O2 replaced today and "wrapped "the exhaust pipe in front of the O2 sensor according to tsb it helps trigger exhaust cleaning cycle had problem with it sooting up the egr ,turbo, etc

now wondering about h 30 completed , h-34, h-36 recall

The whole idea of the regen is to be seamless to the customer. If your not seeing any adverse messages on the overhead the truck must be completing the regens as designed. You would know it very quickly if it was not.

Never saw anything on the overhead either. If you see a message on the overhead, DPF is very near full and the suggested 45 minute run down the road at high speeds loaded will be in order - IF the DPF doesn't get plugged up further.

Then, I installed a pyrometer and gauge and could tell when the periodic Regen occurred. Driving down the road at 40 mph on flat ground and EGT's hitting 1100-1200 degrees, and you know the 5th injection cycle is occurring.

Nevertheless, at 12,200 miles CEL comes on, throws 2 codes and dealer does the "cleanup" (DPF, Turbo, Intake), new O2 sensors, re-flash, and exhaust wrap. Kept the truck for two days. Dealer asked me - "did you view the DVD that came with your truck?". YES, and I did everything it suggested.

I wonder how much Dodge is paying the dealers for the cleanup.
