I thought I'd check it out- after hearing them run my wife would like an 03 a lot better, in fact i actually bought a family car so we only used the dodge when hauling. The 03 is quiet enough to do double duty and only have upkeep for one car.

From what I found so far I can only get the computer and leather if i go the full blown Laramie with all the bells etc??

All I want is a swb sport 3500 srw, 6 spd HO with leather, computer, tow antispin 3. 73 etc. Anyone know anything different??

Leather has always (or at least for a long time) been a SLT Plus / Laramie only option. As far as the computer, the SLT has the computer. The SLT Plus's just has a lot more functions related to engine management (may or may not be accurate if the engine is modified). The Plus also has the homelink garage door opener buttons. The SLT's computer does at least temperature and compass, I am not sure if it does MPG.

Oh, and not to rain on your parade further, but you can't get limited slip with the 3. 73's (unlike in previous years). You either need to go 4. 10's or go aftermarket (I'm planning on a locker once they're available).

looking over at the dodge site- it looks like i can get leather as an option without the full deal- the standard computer is good for me.

As far as lockers go- I'm Ok with aftermarket- the clutch job in my 01 has been rebuilt once already anyway and barely spins both tires in a flat muddy field.

I've got a gift certificate for detroit locker (And superlift suspension if you know anyone who wants a deal) so i can put that to good use. does anyone know if the carrier breaks apart like the old 14-bolt or would I need an entire detroit locker rather than the 14 bolt type guts that replace the spider gears.

While I was typing Melton called me back and confirmed i can get middle of the road options like i want- he's even saying 3. 73 with LSD- will have to confirm.

Thanks

If you order 3. 73 you can order the LSD as an option. If you order 4. 10 you MUST order LSD. Clear as mud I think.

The truck I have ordered is supposed to come with LSD.

I guess I'll find out within a couple of weeks. It's currently taking a train tour!

Yep, it appears chrome was wrong about that, and therefore so was I. :) Dodge's site lets you put those two together. I was wrong about the leather too, but I can claim "lack of interest" as the reason there. :)

According to the Canadian dealer order sheet it does not prohibit ordering a lsd with 3. 73 gears. Only that lsd must be ordered if you order 4. 10 gears. I checked the sheet again today but maybe the dealers order sheet is wrong. Either way, I won't have a problem since I order the 4. 10 gears.

The computer reflects MPG. Also, I ordered a 3500 SWR w/3. 73 AND limited slip. Didn't seem to be a problem and haven't heard back from the factory.

I have access to complete list of options for the '03 Ram 3500 4x4 dated 6 Sep 02. It appears leather is standard with the Laramie option, but a $1425 MSRP on the SLT. The overhead console with trip computer is standard on SLT, the Laramie package also includes this plus garage door opener feature. Anti spin (DSA for $285) is optional with 3. 73, mandatory with 4. 10.
