[Talking about factory orders,... and meaning no more PERIOD,... not no more for the month, etc. ]
Got off the phone about an hour ago (12 noon, 4/2/'07) with Adam Macomber (Dishman Dodge, Spokane, Wa. ).
Adam reports that he has received notification that factory production has ended for certain models (others may be discontinued soon). Next up will be '08's, for which no specs or prices are available at this time.
If you have been waiting for some more buyer feedback before placing your '07. 5 order, you may be surprised by this turn of events.
I. e. , although few of these rigs are in buyer's hands(the '07. 5 brochures have only recently appeared), and there has been releatively little road-time/user-experience for you to base your decision on,... and although it is not yet even the date suggested by the model designation (July, '07), ... you are out of luck if you had intended to factory order a rig to your specs.
Act quickly to determine if the model you had in mind has been discontinued,... because your getting one will depend upon it being available on some dealer's lot or in shipment, ... and upon it not being already spoken-for.
I realize that another thread has been posted that more-or-less informs about this situation, but felt that it warranted a more attention-getting subject line. (I had seen but not read the other post, because it is already a "new month", and I didn't know I needed to be concerned about "month end" changes. )
This sort of thing may not be surprising to those of you who have stayed on top of truck marketing,... but it was a shock to me. I had no idea there was such a short "model-window" on new-truck factory orders.
Any further info re. this situation will be appreciated.
