Well, as hard as I find it to believe , the st***er finally fixed something on my truck. Yep ,the rattle is now gone, now I meet with the factory rep next Wed. morning to discuss my other concerns since day one. Wish me luck, I 'll probably need it!

Just the usual, pulls to the right, the 2100RPM drone, buzz in the steering column, nothing that has not been discussed here before!

mine pulls to the right drone buzz rattles let us know. after replacing the adjustment lever on my steering column the buzz is back. the rattle in the door is back. i am calling them today to tell them to order a whole new door panel.

they fixed my 6er rattle and my new clutch is much smoother while engaging than the old one.

stick do you have the part # of the disc they " supposedly" put in your truck, I 've come to the conclusion that there are some of the early discs being used under the TSB that should not be!! Damn, imagine that, I will fetch my paperwork tomorrow and check the part # and post !! The right disc has "tighter " springs in it and cures the rattle!!

I f I am reading the invoice right the part number for the disc is-

1 52107775AC 21133036 DISC

It crossed my mind that they didn't do the exchange at all, but I can tell by looking that the transmission has been out.

Stick

This is the # on mine

FP # 52107775-AC

DESCRIPTION-DISC CLUT 21133 419

I was told that they were coming out with a revised disk when I started talking to them about the rattle. So which is the supposed revised disk #?It doesn't rattle like it used to do in neutral but when you push the clutch in to shift you can hear(sounds like throwout bearing to me spinning down). Still(trans) makes noise when you are idleing along in 1 or 2. Maybe you just hear it more cause these engines are quiter. But my 5sp was quiet and shifted smoother than this 6sp. They can say what they want but they don't have it quiet right yet.

Well, your guy's part #'s match mine however, above the part # for the disc I am showing NPNENTRAC for $92. 96 anyone know what the heck this is? I'll be asking Wed. morning when I meet the " factory rep". I be thinking it is maybe a throw out bearing, but no numbers listed?? Good ol' D/C

I had a bad rattle in the d/s door panel sounded like a blown speaker, pulled the panel off looks like 3 or 4 pieces welded together (loosely it seems) so I took a caulk gun with black silicon and did all the joints and seems no more rattle. I know it seems alot to do short of getting a new panel but I can't stand to have my ride at the dealership unless somethings really bad broken!

Well mine pulls right also. My 1998 dosent. The 2100 drone is terrible. Really want to know what your told about these two issues!!!Oo.

The dealer checked alignment and air psi and said well it dosent seem to pull! YEA!/RIGHT! Its worse on some road surfaces then others but it wiil swap lanes in the matter of a few car lengths or head you into a ditch. :-{}

DPKetchum, and whoever else is out there here are my results of last Wednesday's meeting with factory reps. First I show up at 9:50 for my 10:00 appointment , Well at 1:50 they finally show up, good thing I took off most of the day from woprk ,huh? For the pull to the right the truck is within specs and checks out fine with dild* head behind the the wheel half the time, says D/C most likely will come out with adjustable caster bolts in the future and we can try that out when the time comes. DRONE after I leave the ????ler I go directly to the exhaust shop to have my Magnaflow 17223 (?) and 4" downpipe installed, now it sounds like my '97 did Oo. After the exhaust shop I go home and in an hour am on the road to get my B&W GN and 5er hitches 2900 miles in 3 1/2 days No DRONE any more to speak of but betwen the fan clutch and the A/C I still get the vibration coming and going. Removed my bugscreen thinhing it was blocking airflow bur still there, start playing with the A/C button and what a racket when that kicks in anywhere from 1700 -3000 RPM's in 6th. Inclined to say it is A/C related. I'll back off for now!! Mark

Rep kept me waiting almost two hours. Had same encounter about pull. Some roads its pretty bad. I have a exhaust coming for mine also. Mine doesn't seem to be much different ac on or off but a neighbor I have his 2500 H. O. 6 speed makes a heck of a HUM AC on. Rep told me Droon was from Turbo and D. C. was WORKING on it. The pull to right is MORE then a drift and Drone is very much their. I'm amazed at the attitude and making Customers wait for hours to meet. I thought they had more courtesy then that.

I had my clutch plate replaced under the tsb and there is no more rattle at all and after returning from a towing trip to the White Mountains in NH, I can attest that the new clutch works just as well as the old one did. I also noticed that my mileage has improved slightly(nothing to do with the clutch). I averaged 11. 5 (11. 3 going up and 11. 7 comming back). I pull a tall 15K fiver and I am very pleased with that with my truck.

My '03 Has a very noticable noise level change with the AC turned on. I haven't looked under the hood yet, but it sounds a lot like an auxiliary fan of some sort, possibly to supplement cooling. The noise level also seems to increase with more acceleration, seems to be more noticable at lower speed, and is more noticable one time versus another.

rattle once again

I would like to add my . 02 on the clutch rattle problem. I began having the clutch rattle on my 03 with less than 1,000 miles and less than a month old. I seen all the forum's on this issue and drove straight to my dealer. They found the TSB and replaced the clutch. Problem solved right, nope 3,600 miles and 2 months old and problem (rattle) has returned. Just wanted to no if anyone else have had the same problem? Now i'm waiting for my Van Haisley clutch to be finished, this will solve it i'm sure.
