2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Another A\C Compressor Question

Is there a bad side to running exhaust with out a muffler. Does the cummins need the back pressure to run better. I am thinking about going to dual stacks and if i did i would not run mufflers.

The only down side is the cops. I got pulled over doing 75 mph allegedly. Cop let me slide on the speeding ticket (my brother is a Correction Officer), but gave me all kinds of crap about my exhaust. I have a 4" Jardine/Pinnacle Performance exhaust straight piped with a chrome slash cut 7" top stack as an exhaust tip. The tip kind of acts as an echo chamber. Sounds wicked like a straight piped big rig. The cop did give me a ticket for and I quote "My amplified exhaust system". He asked me what kind of exhaust is that, and why do I have it on the truck? Anyway backpressure is not an issue for a diesel. Get a piece of straight pipe, two exhaust couplers, and four stainless steel band clamps. This way if you think it is too loud you can put your muffler back in and you won't have to worry about crushing your exhaust pipes. I'm leaving my muffler off, damn the cops. -Glen

Lost my muffler about a year ago--little louder in the

cab, but the 'boss' let me get away with it!?! Might

be a little intense with a stack..... no back pressure

problem... ... ... ... . R, J. B. ;)

thats what i wanted to know i am ordering mine tomorrow. are the any pictures out there of short bed extended cabs with dual 5 inch stacks. i have not seen any when i did a search but i sure somebody has some. thanks again
