Friend's '95 auto won't lock the converter or go into OD. Also, cruise quite working at the same time. Any ideas? By the way, he is a member, just hasn't gotten off his a$$ to get set up.

Trans temp sensor? If by chance the VB was out it could be the wires to the lockup and OD solenoid pinched, the wiring could also have been damaged from something else if the VB was not out. Did the throttle valve cable come off? Check both ends. Does it drive fine in the first 3 gears?

Thanks, thought of that one also. Truck drives fine other than this little problem. We're stuck at work right now and will look at the normal culprits when we get out of here. Truck only has 39,000 miles on it with original (?) everything. Thanks for the replies guys.

what kind of truck? any mods?

have you checked the voltages on the tps? where are they?

i used to live in issaquah. cougar mountain. nice area. did they ever find db?

Is the connector on the driver's side of the transmission, the one above the park/neutral switch, loose or off perhaps? If that is disconnected, the trans will work normally, but you won't have lockup or OD.

does the tach and A/C work? If not, maybe the PCM. Also the connector on the transmission, speed sensor, govener screen could be plugged(does it shift ok?), two Solenoids blown on the o/d and t/c lock up.
