I bought a used 98 with the auto from a local mine. Needless to say this truck has been used HARD! I bought it cheep, and it needed a rearend. I just finished that up and took it for a short testdrive. for the first time today. I notice there is no OD button, but it feels like it has 4 gears. I checked the owners manuel, and it says it's on the end of the shifter lever. Nothing there! This truck has been hacked on a lot, so nothing would surprise me, but shouldn't this have a 47re and a OD shutoff biutton???

Here is a picture of my dash. It's a '95 and I have a '99 shift lever. You can see the button right on the end of the lever. That's where your's should be for your '98. If your dash looks like mine (except for the mods) the OD button is where my combo EDT/boost gauge is.

That's a great place for your prodigy! I'd have to find somewhere to put my McD's change, though. ;)

ya, that is what I thought, but it is not there!! They might have repalce the shift lever. I'll tare into and find out!

All the shift levers from '89 thru '02 fit. Maybe later for all I know. While you have the kick panel and covers off the steering column see if you can find a small two wire connector that is not used in the mess under the instrument panel. That should be for the button wiring.

well I found the plug!! They must have replaced the lever at some point. 98-02 will have the button in the lever correct?? Anyone have a lever they want to get rid of??

Thanks for the help guys!
