Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) No oil pressure on startup - sometimes

Anyone else seen this problem.



Start engine - everything is normal except oil pressure reads zero. Shut off engine and restart and I have oil pressure.



I currently don't think it is a case of not having oil pressure some of the time but it hasn't happened enough times to warrant a mechanical gauge to verify that the sender isn't going bad.



Is it possible for the ignition switch to create such a problem?

I think I'd try a new sender.
