The weather was around 100 deg. today, I had stopped to talk to a friend for about 5 minutes ,I started the truck and drove onto the highway and noticed no oil pressure I pulled over and opened the oil fill cap to see if oil was flowing over the rockers and it was. I shut it down for about 5 min. and restarted the truck And then the oil pressure went back to normal, Is this a glitch with the electronics ?

I had that happen on a 96' scared the heck out of me, because I was on a long trip near the Utah/Colo. border. Luckily it was just the oil sender switch, it had developed a slight oil leak at the sender and shorted out the wiring.

I have had it happen to my 98 12v scared me for sure it was the oil pressure sending unilt on the side of the block under the injection pump then i ran a manual one off the top of the oil filter it now comes up alot quicker than the one in the dash ive since disconected the dash one.
