Exhaust Gasping Sound, Loss of some Power

Fuel delivery issues?..

I drove my truck to work yesterday and everything was fine and when I started to leave yesterday afternoon I cranked it up but I had no oil pressure at all, any ideas

Info on truck would be helpful. Off the cuff answer is probably the sending unit as mine did the same thing. Ordered a new one from genosgarage.com problem solved. I did open the port at the filter before I drove 300 miles with the gauge reading zero to verify I had pressure and it was a sending unit issue.

It's very likely the pressure switch that failed (there is no pressure transducer and the dash gauge is fake..assuming its a 3rd gen).

With the port on the oil filter head you could put a temp gauge in to verify oil pressure and then order a switch.

I had a chevy blazer that ate sending units. I got a brass "T" and screwed it in the block. I put the sending unit in one leg and a pressure gauge in the other. I could open the hood and check "Real" oil pressure. The only reason I even reconnected the sending unit was to keep the light off on the dash.

John I think it was you who several years ago walked me through where to tap into an oil gallery to install a mechanical oil pressure gauge. I did it and never looked back. I removed a plug located directly above the ECM and ran my line there. I love mechanical gauges!!!
