NO OVERDRIVE (AUTO)& FUEL RTN LINE

HAVE A 94 WITH AUTO transmission. WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO O/D. WOULD MOMENTARILY SHIFT FROM 3 TO 4 TO 3. THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE A THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR, BUT THE TRANS TEMP WARNING LIGHT WOULD LIGHT WHEN IN 3 GEAR. PROBLEM IS TRANS TEMPERATURE SENSOR WHICH PREVENTS UPSHIFT IF SENSOR GOES BAD. $12 TO $25 DOLLAR PART AT DEALER, DEPENDING ON YEAR OF TRUCK. FIVE MINUTE REPAIR.

ALSO HAD A NO START BUT IF THE LIFT PUMP WAS PRIMED, WOULD GET A START. CHANGED THE FUEL RETURN LINE AND SOLVED THE PROBLEM. THE LINE HAD ONLY 42K BUT WAS CRACKED SEVERLY. WORST JOB I HAVE DONE. THE FUEL SUPPLY HOSE LINE LOOKS HARDER WITH A CV TYPE BAND TO CLAMP ONTO THE STEEL LINE. ANY SUGGESTIONS TO REMOVE THE SUPPLY LINE?

I just replaced supply and return line, not easy, I cut the lines down on the frame, ran rubber fuel hose to supply connection at back of fuel filter and to return port behind the injector pump.
large line on frame is supply, smaller line is return. don't cut the brake line, it is really small!!!!

If you have to replace the return line again there are a couple things that might help. Remove the nuts that hold the master cylinder and it can move leaned out of the way. Then you can get at the fuel filter pretty easy. Remove it also. Now you can get your hands in there to get to the clamps on the return line a LOT easier.
