I was talking to a guy in my area and he is having a problem with his O/D when its hot out it does not shift into O/D (so he says)

Also he noticed that the Wait to start and water in fuel lights will flicker then the truck will not shift into O/D:confused:

Anyone????

Electrical problem for one. He would need to bypass the elctrical system and ground the solenoid manually to test that.

It's likely that the temp sensor is at fault cutting the ground (or is it power?) when things warm up. The sensor is a switch that opens when it's too cold or too hot.

The switch could be bypassed. I would assume that he does not have a bypass switch already installed in the vehicle.

The speedometer works all the while the OD will not engage?

Sounds like a flakey ECM to me.

. . or a bad connection. Ground or power will cause that. Any flickering of lights is a bad thing. Probably time to get out the dielectric grease and start with grounds and battery terminals.

I don't know the whole story, but he might want to check the obvious and make sure the transmission is not actually overheating, causing the switch to cut out the OD. As Greenleaf mentioned, the switch also cuts off OD when the transmission gets too hot. Start and fuel lights could be something else altogether.

i doubt it but it is possible, flakey computer like said above, or wiring harness problems, have him check to makesure the computer is mounted good not rattling around, mine was doing the same thing and i ended up tying it up w/ zipties and hanging it inside the fender so it dosent rattle w/ the truck but mine's also out of a wrecked truck and it dosent have a case ne more

Well now i own this Gem!!!

The Computer is tight and not moving around.
As for the Speedo Greenleaf sometime it will jump around... . sometimes

I drove it all day yesterday and last night so ill try my best at explaining

started driving around town and it was fine, after awhile in town I got to a stop light and I see the wait to start and water in fuel light come on, as I start to drive the lights start to flicker more and more as speed increases every time after a stop it would do this except when its not acting up
eventually it would go into OD and stay for a bit then come out and the lights will start to flicker again

when it would finally go into OD, if I hit the OD button or step on the pedal and kick it out of OD the lights would come on and it will not go in for awhile

when I drove it at night it was fine... didn't skip a beat
