Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) No overdrive

I have the following problem with the automatic, it will not go into overdrive!

what can I do to solve the problem?

Remove the tps and spray it, work it back and fourth with QD Electronic cleaner from autozone. Spend 20-30 minutes on this just to make sure it is clean. If not, wait for other users to tell you what value resistor to solder in line. The TPS controls overdrive and TC lockup. Cancel OD an see if the TC locks when it should.

There may be a problem with the transmission temperature sender. Unplug the cable from it, find a 1000 to 5000 ohm resistor, bend the leads on the risistor so it can be inserted into the plug and see if OD works.

You also need to make sure the three wire cable to the transmission is connected at the transmission. If it is loose, neither OD nor TC lockup will work.

If the problem is in the TPS my best solution has been to replace the TPS completely.
