I have a 2003 HO CTD that all of a sudden lost power, wants to stall (putts), I uninstaled the SMARTY prgram, no luck and no DTC codes on the Smarty. EGT's were higher than normal, and I am wondering if I am not getting enough fuel. 40K miles on it, I drained the fuel filter and all looked fine.

Fuel tank breather is free of debris. Unfortunately i am out of town with truck and I can trailer it home.

Motor is in A Hummer H1, but it thinks it's still in my dodge, i moved everything over and its run like a champ for 1. 5 years since.

It got trailered here (cold a** part of Mchigan, it can get trailered home, but I'd like to run the trails.

Does it sound like a lift pump or something else?

Thanks

Sounds like the lift pump to me. If it is, I would also expect it to top idling as well... mine killed the engine, then re-started and idled for a while before dieing again. If you still have the filter mounted lift pump replace it!

If you've got an exhaust brake make sure it's not on. Over the years I've had a couple failures that bring the brake on. It will idle just fine but absolutely no power. Will also raise ETG. Just a suggestion.

My 06 is doing the exact same thing. I drove to Lubbock last night, about 325miles, and started losing power. Truck would/will maintain speed, but will struggle to accelerate past 70. Fuel filter is only 3weeks old with maybe 3k miles. Truck has 160k miles. So far it starts fine.

That sounds like what mine did with the clogged air filter. I could accelerate, but after a certain point I would max out the flow of the filter and it would fall flat on it's face. Let off and it was fine up until that point again. I was ready to take it to the dealer, and I installed my factory air intake to bring it in, and the problem was gone.
