Got P242F, P200, PO489, codes, black smoke no power, and clue ---no exhaust brake. truck has 155K miles ....EGR needs replace?

Sounds like your dpf was plugged, the black smoke would lead you to a dpf that has been damaged. The p200@ normally o2 sysstem issue and p0489 an Egr circuit issue

Thanks for reply, yesterday I un plugged the egr - truck ran better then this morning after 2 miles the dpf warning --100% came on - no previous warning about it getting to 80%, etc. - had to finish commute - 40 miles - ran fine, so what's up with dpf, owners man says dealer service -- that really rubs me wrong, I have never been satisified with dealer work and always do my own stuff, including engine, trans, any drive train or body work. So what can the dealer do that I can't? This truck never gets idled and usually is run at highway speeds with very little city or short trips.

It may just be getting tired. Have you serviced the EGR cooler and valve? Changed the crankcase filter? Clean fuel and filters? The no power, smoke and no brake would make me think your ready for a turbo. Only the dealer can run the turbo performance test.

The DPF needa to be cooked and then blown out. You can take it off but the dealer has to send it out to get rhe ser done. . Thanl you Cal
