no power steering or brakes at start up

Hi all,

Need help for a friend of mine. When he starts his 2000 diesel ram he has no power steering or brakes, this has happened to him twice this past week. He took his truck into the service rep but they can not find anything wrong, does anybody have any ideas what it could be and how to fix the problem.

No Power steering or brakes

I had the same problem with my 1996 Ram 2500. It turned out it was the Check Valve from the vacum pump. . Check it out, I had a recall # 720 that installed the check valve to stop oil from getting into the Rubbur vacum hose. . Hope this helps.

no breaks/power steering

Had this problem once on my 97. First start of the day. It was a little scary to say the least. Took it to the dealer and they found nothing wrong. Problem never happened again.
