Power steering fluid is full has power steering to the left but when you turn it back nothing. This is my fathers truck. My brother drove it about 60 miles and then towards the end it wasn't working. He stopped by my work and took my Dodge. It is a 01 3500 QC 4x4. Any suggestions would be great. At the firehouse for the rest of the day so I can't really do anything till tonight. Thanks for the imput.

I'm not sure about the newer steering boxes but, the one on my 73 Duster has a two botl flange on top where the two lines from the pump go into it. When this is removed there is a small piviot type shaft that goes into it. From what I can gather when you turn the wheel one way it diverts fluid pressure to the side that needs the assist. So, if our trucks have the same type set up the pivot could be cracked or bent or ??? Sorry it's the best I can do rite now. I'll look in the shop manual when I get home to see if I can find anyhting in the troubleshooting section of the steering chapter and get back to you. I doubt that anything in the suspension could be allwoing a turn one way and not allowing it to turn back the other way but, I've been wrong before.

I second what Bill says. You need a PS box. I just put a couple on my truck from NAPA. The first new one had no assist at idle. The next one had no assist to the left, and it wouldn't return to center from the left side either. I'm going to give it one more shot and then it's time to try another source.
