My friend has a 1996 3500 Ram that the power steering is not working properly. He has already replaced the steering box with a rebuilt unit. Is there a way to test the power steering pump? also is it possible to adjust the high presser side on the pump? Thanks in advance.

I know you probably don't want to hear this, but try another ps pump. I personally have installed two bad pumps in a row on a 96, one new mopar and one parts store rebuild. The third pump was installed, worked perfect. The other two pumps made no pressure, (checked with factory gauge). I know the original pump was dead, the shaft fell out as soon as it was unbolted.

The power steering pump is not serviceable nor adjustable. If it fails or develops an internal leak the entire unit must be replaced.
