I have a 1999 Dodge 2500

All stock as far as this question goes.

Lucky this happened while i was still in the USA.

I was about a mile from the TJ border and went to get some burgers before a trip south for the weekend. I got back in the truck and guess what it did not fire up. #@$%! looked at the pressure gauge and the needle was not moving at all. I had been having pressure problems for a while 7 at WOT and 10 idle. so i thought that it was the LP. So I had to towed (100. 00) to a friends big property where i could work on it replaced the fuel pump (carter from napa for 205. 00 please no comments about fass or the others not rich like you others)

( a side note make sure and not lose the Banjo bolt. (i dropped it someplace and found it later) they cost 150. 00)

So after i get it all together it still does not spin or start no pressure on the gauge either. so i find a way to hot wire the LP and still no pressure. So i turn the water drain valve and nothing comes out ( truck has 1/4 tank of fuel) so i loosened the banjo bolt on the outlet side of the filter. Guess what after about 10 -15 sec is tarts gushing out. So i back track and re-tight that bolt and loosen the in side of the filter and get nothing out of that port. so now i am really confused. So i take the banjo bolt off the out side of the LP and nada come out. So i tighten everything and loosen the out side (where i got fuel before) and it gushes out there. I have asked some other friends they seem to think that the no power to the LP is probably the ECM???

So i have i think some questions

1. No power to LP =ECM?

If it is the ECM can i replace it myself?

can i put a aftermarket performance enhancer in its place?

2. If i cannot replace it my self where is a good place to go in San Diego.

The Truck in in Bonita,CA (South San Diego County)

as it will have to towed

3. Is the LP self priming? and is there some type of filer in the tank that could be plugged ( This L. P. is still on the engine block. ) :--)

Thanks ahead for all the comments and again please not comments about fass or the others. I am tried of driving this Cadillac and want my loud truck back

sorry to be so wordy that is what 2 cups of JD does when i am sad :(

sounds like your having the same problem i am. the other day i thought my lp went out. so i ordered a uprgade and mounted to frame. wired everything up and nada. relay is good, but i no power on the lp wires. bench tested the stock lp and it works. so y in hell dont i have pwr. i hot wired my new pump, but no start keeps throwing lp code. i think its the ecm!! dont know. lemme know what you come up with

From reading your post I am not sure if you understand the ecm stategy for the lp. When you say you hot wired it it did you supply b+ and ground and if so in the right polarity so the pump would spin correct direction?

The ecm's are pricey and come with out software from Dodge,if you have any doubts about the accuracy of your diag take it to Cummins Cal Pacific (coach care)in El Cajon. Ask for Pablo to work on it. He will take good care of you.
