Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) No power!

OK,i've driven the new truck for a week now and this thing get's bad mileage and has no power I remember hearing about a tsb on this am i correct? did a search but came with nothing(probably did something wrong)any help would be welcomed. almost forgot,witch box is the best one for h/o.

For some reason the mileage isn't very good on a new rig. Seems like some breakin time is necessary. The power/mileage may be related and improve with time.



Or, just get yourself a Edge Products EZ and install a good set of injectors, Stage III's would be my favoriteOo. Then call Southbend Clutch

Just returned from a 1300 mile trip, driving empty at an average speed of 75-85 mph - got a trip average of 19. 2 mpg, figured manually, no computer #'s! (computer claimed I got 20. 2 mpg)



I was running my Comp on 2x2 for the entire trip... I'm confident that a more sane 65 mph average speed woulda put me WELL over 20 mpg actual... Pulling our 7000 lb fiver in mixed flat/mountainous driving at legal speeds will deliver 17 mpg and better...

HVAC,you comming down again this year?I hope with some more miles on it the milage will be better, right now it is only at 13. 5 and that is not even getting on it!

Truckin' For Kids

I am going to be there if my truck is fixed by then. Need a little transmission work at the moment.

We should be able to stir some excitement with times in the 12. 10 range.

IAT

I was only getting about 15. 5 on my truck after 40,000 miles. I put in a new IAT and it went up to 18. 1 on the first tank and 17. 8 on the last tank.

That sounds mighty low. Are you hot rodding it a lot?? If not, take it to the dealer and complain. My first tank got 17. 5 and I was going fast everywhere. Mine now has settled in at 18. 5 in town driving.

sdalton,that is not stuffing my foot in it!with my 12 valve and all that is done to it i still got around 15mpg in town with my big foot in it,to much fun to beat those stupid hondas and watch their look on their faces most won't even look at you at the next light

just kinda crouch down in the seat and stare ahead
