Well I have been reading all these posts about you guys cruisin at 70-75 up grades while towing some serious weight!! So I figured my 7x12 tool trailer which weighs out at 3500lbs gross should be like pullin a feather!! NOT!! I hit the slightest incline(in OD) going about 75 and pow I got nothing!! Dropped all the way down to 55 and probably would have went further if the top of the hill didn't come along!! So my question is do I have a problem that someone else has experienced or is this normal for an un BOMED auto? Please help can't let my buddy with his furd beat me to the snowmobile trails in a few weeks!!:{

get yourself a comp box and just don't hook up the pump wire.

you will be amazed :)

also kick out OD when the RPM's drop below 1700

That's pretty much normal for a stock truck with an auto and 3:54 gearing. Lock out OD when going up hills and you shouldn't loose any speed with just 3500 LBS in tow.

Go to the dealer and get the low power in OD reflash, your truck was one that is subject to the flash. Basically the computer is derating the engine in OD.

What you have is not normal, 3500 pounds is not enough to even feel on the highway unless it is a really big wind dragging load.

EDIT: here is the TSB 18-024-00.

thanks LS I though I read something to that effect!! I will get it done. Hopefully it helps a little. I didn't think 3500lbs was enough to bring it down that far!!
