Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) no power

OK I have a '98,auto,4:10,285 tires.

Went to tow my quad trailer[empty 1200lbs. ]on Rt 80 out to PA... ..... cruise at 65-70mph come to a hill couldn't get faster than 50-55mph. I did take into consideration of different tire size.

Truck runs great,can hear turbo spool up but nothing there.

I did pick this truck up about 2 months ago,after 5 days found out fuel gauge was off,ran out of fuel and found out lift pump was bad.

No check engine lt.

It runs awesome but no b... ... . lls.

Turbo may be spooling, but you may not be getting any boost. Check the hose connections from the turbo to the intercooler and up to the intake on the head.



You may still have some codes present even with out the check engine light. Find someone with an OBD II scanner and check it. Also check you current LP's fuel pressure.



How about smoke? Is you truck smoking a lot under load?

I don't see or feel any air boot leaks,fuel pressure is fine[13-14],and no smoke.

I am going to scan it tomorrow,and check waistgate.

Have you check the fuel filter? Your truck should not even notice a small trailer on it.
