This morning the 8.4 stopped receiving am and fm radio signals. Even the presets are empty. Satellite works (not signed up) on the one channel that promotes you to join. Media from cell phone works also, just no am, fm. Any ideas?

recommend manual reset. press and hold the two knobs on the system. one is volume/mute and the other says menu. the system will reboot and all will be good in the world, I thank.

There is also a system factory restore option in the menu.

One more thing, even though you are not subscribed to anything, I believe you still get updates.

Let us know if it works.

Cheers, Ron

I tried Ron, no luck. Did both that you suggested. They both made the screen go black and seemed to re-boot the system but the problem remains. Any other ideas before I see a dealer, thanks.

What do you mean wait 15 minutes before turning on? The unit is on before, and goes black during the reset. Then comes back up. Do you mean wait 15 minutes before hitting the fm button?

got me thinking. been about 4 months since I did this on mine and later on my wifes per uconnect tech.

yes wait 15 min before going into audio after reset.

hope it helps.

Cars, beer and a woman...Loved them days.
Also, when FM had no talk, except for the mandatory station ID every half hour; played full albums of great music...in STEREO. 4 track & 8 track tapes. Gas wars with $0.27/gallon premium. $5.00 would fill your tank, get a pack of Camels and at least a six pack of nectars, and have change left over. :D

My dad had a cafe after retiring from the USAF in 1966, and had a juke box... Mamas and Papas, Association, Monkees, Bobby Joe Gentry, Loreta Lynn, George Jones, Tammy Wynette,

I have vinyl, cassettes, CDs, and DVDs with all these artists. Love Willie's Roadhouse, Classic Vinyl on Sirius.

Those were the days my friends, we thought they would never end.....

Cheers to y'all,

Ron

Back to the OP, did you get anywhere with your system. My own experience, these systems can be glitchy and some cases just crap out. Too bad it controls a lot of systems on the truck. No way to install a Kraco Am FM eight track in there... or is there?

Let us know how it turns out. I'm potential victim too.

Hey Berigan, hope you dont mind all the "Jive Talk'n" here. Just having fun.

Cheers Ron
