I started having a issue with my 07 4x4 2500 CTD. Every now and then I'll hear a chime go off inside, usually when I crank it up. This sometimes but not always results in the right blinker flashing real fast. Then I will have a very dim right rear blinker and no right rear brake light. A friend of mine has a very expensive Snap On scanner and he can go in and clear the code and it will be fine, maybe for 2 months maybe 1 month. I ask because it happened again today, I had him clear the code and it is fine for now. Does this sound like a TIPM problem? Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks

Do what NIsaacs suggested first.
Then:
Remove the r/r twilight assembly and clean the exterior of the main connector with a fine brush(old tooth brush works great). The connector will probably be cover with 8 years of dust/dirt and cleaning the exterior will make it much easier to operate to disconnect from assembly. D/C connector and inspect inside/outside of it for corrosion/bent pins, etc. Check each bulb for corrosion and put dielectric grease on each bulb connection, reassemble.(use grease on main connector also).
There is also a braided ground wire that bonds the bed to the cab. It is located on the p/s about 12 inches from edge(easy to find). Remove both ends & clean area, reassemble.
The problem could be, intermitten power supply, floating ground or the printed circuit board that the lights plug into(if your truck has one).
Electrical gremlins are the some of the worst things to find(IMO). You just have to start at A and go to Z, and then you still might not find it.

Thanks guys you gave me some areas to check. I did put a new tail light assembly on the right rear after I backed into a tree. When it first happened, I did remove it to try new bulbs but I'll check a little further into it. Thanks and have A Merry Christmas!

I had same problem, pulled the bulb out and it was burnt at the plug part of the bulb, replaced bulb and all was fine , Monte

You got me to thinking. I replaced the right tail light assembly when I backed into a tree in woods. Well I replaced it with a China made spin off and now I'm having trouble with that side? I replaced it 3 years ago but I've only had trouble the last 6 months. I did drop the spare and the wiring going across from left to right looked fine, no pinched wires. I then took the right tail light assembly out, unplugged the bulb holders from the harness and the pins looked straight and were clean and shinny. But I compared the cheap bulb holder to the original ones that I had saved. The originals looks like brass contacts where the bulb plugs in and where the harness plugs to them. The cheap China ones are steel or who knows? So I blew them out, used some dielectric grease on the bulb holders and harness sides. I also found the ground cable you were talking about and cleaned the ends on a bench grinder with a wire wheel on it, cleaned the contact surfaces good and checked the cable with a OHM meter. So now I guess it's a waiting game to see if I fixed it or not. Thanks again for everyone's help.
