I installed the my #6 in the stock position I have good power, no smoke, can I move the plate forward a little to get some more juice or should I just leave it?

full farward is good. But I prefer out all to gether. You could move it farward for more power and maybe smoke. And the star nut will also give more smoke for pre boost.

what kind of boost are you seeing? how did it effect your EGT's

you might slide it a bit, i wouldnt go any farther than 2/3's. did you adjust your starwheel any. is your boost coming on pretty quik these are reasons to move or not move the plate. if you think you can get a few more pounds of boost out of it and your EGT's can stand it, then move it. otherwise leave it alone. the starwheel will decrease spoolup time when turned towards the engine(less lag) and increase lag away from engine.

keep fooling and let us know :D

moving plate

I am getting 28 lbs boost, and approaching 1300 on the pyro at full throttle with TC locked. Its just that I've heard all these guys talkin about big rig smoke pouring out after the TST install and I just dont have that! (Nothing says "Back Off" like a facefull of diesel soot...

you need to do AFC mods to get the smoke under boost. my afc is gutted (rack stop removed) so i get full smoke under boost. moving the plate forward will allow for more low end and more noticable mid-range smoke (as my stock plate is full forward).

I run my #11 full forward and the AFC backed clear off and The AFC housing clear forward. It will smoke a lot especially on a humid day but hauls butt, Gotta watch that EGT gauge though
