Just incase someone was doing a title search, I wanted to cover all the symptoms. I had all these come about rather suddenly. After searching this site, I saw that it could be anything from a clogged fuel filter to fuel pump timing. I started with the fuel filter and prefilter screen. The filter was BLACK with something. It wasn't a thick coating like tar, but was kinda oily. Maybe this was normal for a filter that had never been changed in 130K. There was a little bit of metalic sediment in the prefilter, but not bad. Anyway... I've seen several posts of other guys having the same symptoms, and at least in my case, it was as simple as the fuel filter.

FYI for any other "unmechanics" like me... don't waste your time trying to fill the filter bowls with fuel before reinstalling. Just unscrew the bleed screw and about 40 pumps on the primer had it filled. I don't know how you'd ever get a canister full of fuel back on anyway. I had to turn and twist it practiically upside down to get it back on.
